Telford Kite Festival is a free event which will see kites of all different shapes, sizes and colours flying high in QEII Arena, Telford Town Park!
If you’re looking for a day out with a difference this one is for you. The event will be led by The Midland’s Kite Flyers Association, a group of expert kite flyers who are also renowned as one of the UK’s premier kite groups.
Watch kite flying displays, get involved and build your own kite in the build a kite workshop whilst getting tips and design ideas from our special guests.
Stay for the day and bring along a picnic or take advantage of the takeaway services offered at Harvester, Nandos, Four Corners World Buffet or Pizza Express located in Southwater just 2 minutes walk away for Telford Town Park.
Look out for children’s kite making workshops at Telford Shopping Centre in the run up to the event. More details coming soon.

A ticketed charity gala open-air concert in aid of the Severn Hospice, Brass Night of the Proms, will take place on Saturday evening, 9th July from 7.30pm. Compered by BBC Radio Shropshire presenter, Eric Smith, it will feature the Ifton Colliery Band and the Band of the Royal Signals; covered seating will be provided, or bring a blanket and enjoy a picnic on the grass.
