Man threatened with blade in Telford assault

A man was threatened with a knife after being punched and kicked by four other men near a town centre.

The assault is believed to have taken place in Telford at around 8.45pm on Thursday.

The victim man, who is in his fifties, was walking along a footpath from Southwater Way in the town centre, towards Brunel Road in Malinsee, when he was approached by four men, who are believed to have walked from Coachwell Close on to the footpath.

The man was assaulted, then punched and kicked while he was on his knees. It is also reported that he was threatened with a bladed object.

The victim received injuries to his face, knees and chest but did not require hospital treatment.
