Pride In Our Community improvements - week starting 14 May

Here’s an update on the work our crews are doing this week.

Roads – Highway improvements start on Hiatt Avenue and Ladycroft in Wellington, Summer Crescent and Johnstone Close in Wrockwardine Wood, and Cloisters Way and Redhill Way in St Georges.  In order to get resurfacing work on Cloisters roundabout done as quickly as possible, it is necessary to manage traffic with multiway signals and phase the work on the roundabout. Crews will be on site for up to 6 days from today, and the working hours will be from approx 8am through to 6pm daily.  Access to and from the Cloisters Way will be required from a specific direction this will be notified on site with signs.  Every effort is being taken to keep disruption to a minimum, and access will be maintained for residents with staff on hand to help them through the works safely. Any issues, please speak to the crews on site or email highways@telford.gov.uk.

Car Parks – Brands Farm Way will be finishing this week.  Works continue on Brindleyford and Bishopdale.

Footpaths – Weather permitting, work will continue in Dawley & Aqueduct, Wrockwardine Wood & Trench, Hadley & Leegomery and Sutton Hill.

Road lining and signage – Crews will be doing road lining work in parishes of Lilleshall and Preston Upon the Wealdmoors, they will also be undertaking lining works on a find and fix basis in other areas across the Borough.

Street lighting – crews are continuing with upgrading lights to more energy-efficient LEDs in Wellington, Hadley & Leegomery, Stirchley and Dawley.

Potholes fixers – ‘Find it Fix it’ crews are filling potholes that have been reported to us.  Please help by reporting any you spot here or via the Everyday Telford App.

Litter picking and grass cutting – estate crews will be out litter picking and grass cutting in areas around Brookside, Sutton Hill, Woodside, Hollinswood, Randlay, Stirchley, Malinslee, Leegomery and College. Anyone wanting to report an issue with littering in their area can do so here.

Dog poo campaign in Sutton Hill – Street Champions are marking dog poo around the Alexander Fleming Primary School with yellow spray to raise awareness of the problem and shame irresponsible dog owners into picking up after their dogs. Luminous Keep Britain Tidy signs are also up in the area, warning dog owners that "We are Watching You”.  At the end of four weeks, the dog mess will be cleared.  Please report incidents you see, as we recently issued 4 fines on the back of reports that came in from people prepared to give a statement.  Please report via the website here or the Everyday Telford app.
