Staff at a packaging firm that supplies goods to chocolate giant Cadbury were today due to protest over pay. They are threatening to work to rule, with an overtime ban among action threatened by unions.
The workforce at WZ Packaging Ltd, voted to take industrial action after a ballot.
The company, based at Halesfield 18, manufactures sweet wrappers, catering foil and medicine packaging among other items.
Union Unite officer Caroline Crolley said: "We are issuing the company with a notice of industrial action. We balloted the workforce, who balloted in favour of industrial action.
"They have had no increase in pay for four years.
"We will start with an overtime ban and if the company fails to negotiate with us, we will increase the action."
The union represents 34 shop floor and office workers at the firm. Cadbury is among its biggest customers.
