Pride In Our Community improvements - week beginning 5 November 2018

Here’s an update on what our crews are working on this week - improvements to roads, footpaths, street lighting and much more...

Roads – work continues in Kingsway Crescent, Kingsland, Charles Road and Arleston Avenue, Manor Road, Toll Road and Stone Crescent in Arleston; Spring Hill, Hollies Road and Orleton Lane in Wellington. Work starts on A442 from Shawbirch through to Cold Hatton. Get live updates on street works and traffic management schemes in Telford here.

Footpaths – improvements continue in Oakengates, Madeley and Hadley.

Residential parking – crews are working in Willowfield Woodside to improve parking provision in the area, and work is expected to last for around two more weeks.

Drainage – work continues in Waterloo Road in Ketley and Preston upon the Weald Moors.

Winter maintenance – it looks like the weather is going to be milder this this week with the forecast not showing any signs of a frost. Here’s the Met Office 5 day forecast for Telford.

Potholes - crews are filling potholes that have been reported to us. Please report any potholes you spot here or via the Everyday Telford app.

Street lighting – crews are working on upgrading street lights in Oakengates, Lawley and Overdale, and Wellington. If you have a question about street lighting, please email

Church Aston culvert – The Dale in Church Aston remains closed following the collapse of the carriageway earlier this month. The road is expected to be shut for a few weeks yet.

Improvements in Hollies Road and surrounding area in Wellington continue until mid-December. Temporary road closures are in place, but are being phased in order to keep disruption to local residents & businesses to a minimum. More information, including FAQs and contact details here

Grounds maintenance and litter picking – crews are out in areas across the borough and have begun the job of clearing leaves now the majority have fallen. They have also started planting up the winter bedding and spring flowering bulbs. You can report a grounds maintenance issue here. Anyone wanting to report an issue with littering in their area can do so here.

Street Champions – our volunteers are doing a champion job in their communities. They report issues they see to us and do litter picks (among other things). We’re also rallying our Snow Warden volunteers ready for winter. If you would like to volunteer as a Street Champion or Show Warden in your area please let us know. Details of all volunteering opportunities here.
