Telford & Wrekin Council’s occupational therapists have been to Blists Hill Victorian Town to show how they change the lives of children with disabilities for the better.
The event on Wednesday 6 November was part of a week long national campaign by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
The theme of this year’s campaign is "Small Change, Big Impact” – changes that may seem small, but have a powerful impact.
Councillor Andy Burford, Telford & Wrekin Council’s Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care, said: "Our event at Blists Hill provided children with games and activities and showed the range of equipment and adaptations available to help children continue to live independently at home while also ensuring their safety and that of their parents and carers.
"The annual Occupational Therapists week is a chance to celebrate the great work done in this area and give children and their parents and carers to meet other people and share their stories and experiences.
"This year also gave the opportunity to promote and thank local volunteer groups for their vital support; including Telford and Wrekin Young Carers Group, Pirates and Princesses, Area 51 Tramp, Shining Stars and Parents Opening Doors, known as PODS.”
